Looking Glass
Cork-Howard constructed a ‘Node’ for the high-speed data transfer for Looking Glass Corporation. Its site provides inner-city fiber optic access for in-house and tenant needs. New structural steel platforms were required on both the floor and rooftop to accommodate new equipment weight loads. Electrical and cooling needs required a 1,600A switchgear, a 900kw generator, a DC conversion plant, a DC battery plant, a DC UPS system, three 60-ton dry coolers with a dual pump package and six independent CRAC units. The project also included the installation of a pre-action sprinkler system for fire protection. The design called for 7,500sf of immediate expansion space. Cork-Howard met the critical schedule in only 10 weeks.
