  • May 9, 2008:  Cork-Howard joined with the National Bone Marrow Donor Program in hosting a donor registration at our office on Friday, May 9th.  We are pleased to announe that we were able to register 57 potential marrow donors!  For pictures of the event, please click here.  For information on hosting your own marrow drive please contact Stacy Toney at: stoney@nmdp.org.

The purpose of this is to register individuals in the NBMD Program.  Bone marrow transplants are required of people with lymphoma and other life threatening diseases. On any given day, 6,000 patitients search the National Marrow Donor Program Registry for a marrow donor.  They are hoping to find a volunteer donor who is willing to help them.  Donors with diverse racial or ethnic backgrounds are especially needed.  Give the gift of life by joining the registry so someone else may have the hope of life.  This registry drive is open to the public; as we are hoping to register 100 individuals during this campaign.    For more information regarding the donor program, please visit their website at:  www.marrow.org.

  • May 2, 2008:  Nothing is more refreshing than a company  that gives of itself.  As philantrhopic as Cork-Howard is as a company, the employees are individually just as generous.  Friday, May 2nd ended two very important internal drives that is totally employee directed.  One was a food drive for MUST Ministries.  The community shelter was running desperately low on life's basic necessity, food.  Employees collected non-perishable items for the drive and delivered them to the Marietta shelter on Friday.  Another employee drive was for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Memorable Luminary drive.  Employees remembered loved ones lost to cancer, as well as were able to honor those currently battling this awful disease by making donations to the lumiary drive.  CDH Partners, a local architect, gave the call and the employees jumped to the challenge.
