Gene Cork, President
Mr. Cork serves as the President of Cork-Howard Construction. His
professional career began in 1984 with Beers Construction Company.
In 1989, he began working for, and soon after running a small, local
interiors business, Parker & Company.
In 1995, he began Cork-Howard Construction Company.
Gene Cork is a native to the Atlanta area where he graduated with
honors from Emory University in 1983. Professionally, Mr. Cork sits
on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Association of General
Contractors, the Bobby Dodd Charities Foundation, Buckhead Christian
Ministries, the MetroAtlanta Chamber of Commerce, and WellStar Hospice
Foundation. Additionally, Mr. Cork is involved with the Cobb County
Chamber of Commerce and the Carpenters Union Local 225. |

Rusty Ragsdale, Vice President
Rusty Ragsdale has been in the construction industry for over 30 years and is a proven leader and project manager. A graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology and after a successful career at Humphries and Company, Mr. Ragsdale now heads Cork-Howard as Vice-president.
While at Humphries, Rusty was involved with their largest clients, managing projects in excess of 500,000sf. The scope of his project range from $500,000 to almost $50 million; and cover the spectrum of project types from hotels, country clubs, and data centers to high-end corporate clients. |

Mark
Williams, Vice President
Mr. Williams serves as Vice President of Cork-Howard Construction.
He began his professional career with Four Seasons Environmental
where he refurbished laboratories and operating rooms for The Center
for Disease Control. Mr. Williams continued his construction management
career with Beers Construction Company prior to joining Cork-Howard
Construction in 1997. Mr. Williams is a native of Atlanta and a graduate
of Young Harris and the University of Georgia. Professionally, he
participates with the Association of General Contractors and the
Carpenters Union Local 225 and devotes time to the community with
the Boy Scouts of America, local Little League Baseball, and North
Metro Church. |

Jeff
Smith, Senior Project Manager
Jeff Smith serves as a Senior Project Manager for Cork-Howard Construction.
Involved in the construction industry since 1975, Mr. Smith has managed
interior projects ranging form $18,000 to $2 million; and ground-up
projects from $350,000 to $32 million. Mr. Smith has worked for Flagler,
Manhattan, and Yates Construction prior to arriving at Cork-Howard.
Mr. smith is the qualifying agent for Cork-Howard in the states of
South Carolina and Tennessee and is OSHA certified. He annually participates
in continuing education in areas such as safety, steel erection,
and erosion control. Mr. Smith has been a resident of Atlanta for
more than 40 years; is a graduate of Southern Poly Technology; and
is an active volunteer in Cobb County Schools. |

Greg Smith, Project Manager
Mr. Smith has been in the Commercial Construction industry for five years and in the construction industry for over nine. He is a graduate of Young Harris and Southern Poly Technical State University; graduating with a degree in Construction Management. Since entering the construction field, Greg’s depth of experience ranges from corporate offices, mid-size developments, fitness centers, medical office buildings, ground-up Design-Build, LEED projects, child care facilities, and auto repair stations. This broad spectrum of work has enabled Greg to quickly advance in his career and knowledge base of this exciting industry. Due to the demanding aspects placed on his work, Greg has the ability to work with a multitude of entities with strict standards.

Powell Turner, Senior Project Manager
A graduate of University of Florida, Mr. Turner obtained a Bachelor of Science in Construction and began his career in Atlanta with a premier industry leader. Powell has had a diverse background working on both the construction and the leasing side of business and therefore brings a unique perspective to the construction team. Since 1994, Powell’s project expertise has ranged from retail, hotels and resorts, condominiums to mixed-use developments, with values as high as $200 million. His strengths include pre-construction budgeting, value engineering, and project management.

Pam Johnson, Assistant Project Manager
Ms. Johnson grew up in Texas and North Carolina, respectively, and graduated from the University of North Carolina with a B.S. degree in Business Management. Ms. Johnson is currently responsible for assisting a Vice-President and two Senior Project Managers with construction projects of tenant improvement for educational, medical, financial, non-profit and office space in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. This includes the managing of project correspondence in varying degrees, assisting with the bidding process, submittals, request for information, contracts, owner and subcontract change orders, owner billings, closeouts and attend any project meetings when needed. Ms. Johnson is extremely dedicated in providing her team with as much support as needed to get the job done and to maintain Cork-Howard Construction Company’s high standards for excellence.

John Handerhan , Senior Project Manager, Tampa
Mr. Handerhan serves as Senior Project Manager for Cork-Howard Construction in Tampa. After a successful career in the Atlanta Headquarters, Mr. Handerhan moved to Tampa to establish our first branch office. While in Atlanta, Mr. Handerhan help lead the company into the healthcare segment. Since in Tampa, Mr. Handerhan is responsible for tripling the size of the branch.

Pat Wakeman , Project Development Manager, Tampa
Mr. Wakeman serves as Project Development Manager for Cork-Howard Construction - Tampa. Mr. Wakeman has over 30 years experience in construction, real estate development, operations, and facitliy management. His position encompasses business development; pursuing and developing new clients as well as running work - primarily in the Florida region.

Gray Hanavich , Assistant Project Manager, Tampa
Mr. Hanavich is instrumental to the operations of the Tampa branch occupying the primary administrative role as well as assisting in the preparation of bids and budgets and obtaining the permits for most of the projects. Gray has a strong commitment to quality, meeting deadlines, and client relationships.

Vicki
Blahut, Director of Safety
Ms. Blahut serves as Director of Safety for Cork-Howard Construction
and has 16 years of experience in civil engineering, land surveying
and architecture along with eleven years of experience in construction,
interior and base building. Ms. Blahut holds an Advanced Safety Certificate
(NSC), 30 Hour Construction Safety and Health certificate from OSHA, is an authorized
OSHA Trainer, is ASHE certified, is Infection Control Risk Assessment
(IRCA) trained and is certified in CPR, first aid and bloodborne pathogens. Due to the new EPA lead paint ruling, Ms. Blahut obtained training and is Cork-Howard's Certified Renovator. Professionally she is a member of the National Safety Council (NSC),
American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and Associated General
Contractors, Georgia Branch Safety Committee; and is currently co-chair of the Safety Committee for the AGC. |

Jodi Hesse, Comptroller
Ms. Hesse has over 25 years in the construction industry. While employed with Cork-Howard she has implemented procedures and policies that help the company and our customers. Under her direction, the accounting department manages accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll for both Cork-Howard companies and all three office locations. |

Eddie Cobb, Senior Estimators
Mr. Cobb serves as the Senior Estimator for Cork-Howard and is distinguished by the length of service he has provided Cork-Howard; coming with the company founders from a previous construction company not long after the company started. Eddie is the lead estimator on the multi-floor and fas-paced interiors projects, as well as contributing in other areas where needed. |

Bill Gray , Business Development Manager
Mr. Gray comes to Cork-Howard after 30 years in Medical sales. He brings unique insight into the healthcare industry; one of Cork-Howard's fastest growing segments. His experience has garnered new healthcare and corporate clients. Always with a smile on his face, both employees and customers alike enjoy the relationship building that he instills. |

Lisa Bryant, Marketing/IT Manager
Ms. Bryant has been with Cork-Howard almost since its inception and manages a variety of departments for the company. Holding a Masters Degree in Marketing, Ms. Bryant oversees the creative and strategic mareketing plans for the company. With her computer experience and various certifications, Ms. Bryant also manages the IT department from coordinating routine maintenance to ensuring all equipment is inventoried and in working order. Additionally, she operates as the company's Office Manager; overseeing the standards of the office are maintained, managing the front desk, and procures company materials and supplies. Ms. Bryant is a member of both, the Technology Committee and the Marketing Committee, for the Associated General Contractors, Georgia Branch. |
